City Art Farm has been growing art and imaginations in Seattle since 2007. Young artists experience a vibrant and creative environment where they build new skills while making new friends. Summer Camp is the perfect choice to explore new mediums or dive deep into loved art forms. Ages 7-16

Painting with Acrylic, Gouache and Ink
Painting is my favorite technique because there are so many different materials to choose from to apply color. This class will explore different painting mediums and learn techniques that each material has to offer.

Needle Felting Sculpture
Students will learn to card, dye and needle felt fleece from our own Angora goats, Pauline and Edna. Create little animals or people, sea stars and urchins, or maybe a new pair of slippers?..

Drawing 101
The first thing an artist tries is drawing. On napkins, menus, and ruled paper, kids learn how to hold a pencil. Learning the alphabet takes skill. This class adds to that skill by practicing the basic elements of line, shape, perspective and volume. This class is great for all levels of drawing skills.

Paper Mache Sculpture
Paper Mache is a delightfully messy way to create sculptures using recycled paper products. Artists will choose from the functional: bowls, platters, or vases, to the playful: masks, pińatas, or puppets. Paper Mache is one of my favorite mediums because of its simplicity and accessibility, making boredom a thing of the past.

Garden Inspiration
Art comes in all forms. It takes more than studio work to enrich the sense of self. This class looks to the garden for inspiration. Projects include: herbal tea, rhubarb stepping stones, felting with wool from our goats, and other fun ideas for and from the garden.
